Aberporth & Local Areas

Ceredigion has over fifty miles of magnificent coastline with more than thirty spectacular beaches, ranging from small-secluded coves to traditional seaside resorts.

Tresaith and Aberporth are two closely linked beaches that are very popular with locals and holidaymakers. It's not surprising, since they both fly the coveted European Blue Flag and were awarded the green Coast award in 2002. The award winning beaches were recognised for meeting the required bathing water quality and for high standards of beach management that reflects their rural, unspoilt nature.

A gentle coastal walk through magnificent scenery links the two beaches, where you may even spot a dolphin. Both beaches have parking and toilet facilities close by as well as cafes where you can by refreshments and ice creams.

If you like original and interesting gifts, pay a visit to Joe & Trudi Finch Pottery & Paintings in Aberporth. The large pottery showroom always has a good selection of hand-made and decorated functional pottery. In the gallery there is an extensive range of Trudi Finch cards and prints on show, plus some original paintings.

Just a few miles North of Tresaith is Penbryn Beach with it's vast golden sandy beach. Managed by the National Trust, Penbryn beach is reached through the scenic woods of the fern-clad Hoffnant Valley. The nearby coastal walks afford extensive views of Cardigan Bay. A car park is provided about 400 metres from the beach together with a farmhouse shop providing refreshments and toilet facilities.

Tide tables for the coast of Ceredigion are on sale at some retail outlets and at Tourist Information Centres.
